Thanks to you both, Bridget and Alyssa! I appreciate that both of your measures capture information about broad impacts of COVID, including financial stress, job loss, etc. Another measure is the Fear of Illness and Virus Evaluation (FIVE), which was created by Dr. Jill Ehrenreich-May, a Professor at University of Miami. It provide more in-depth assessment of anxiety symptoms and has parent-, child-, and adult-report versions. If others are interested in using this measure please contact Dr. Ehrenreich-May directly for the measures and her permission to use them:

Our research group is reviewing measures and finalizing plans for assessment of COVID related stress within a longitudinal cohort of African-American mothers and children in Detroit. Given the concerning racial/ethnic disparities in COVID outcomes within the United States, we are interested in examining whether these disparities are generating different levels or types of COVID related stress and anxiety in the African-American community relative to other groups. We are interested in connecting with other researchers would be interested in comparing results between different populations (e.g., urban v. rural, African-American v. Caucasian). Please let me know if you are interested in discussing this idea further. Thanks everyone!

Hello all,In light of recent conversations about covid-19 related distress, I drafted a simple, brief screener to assess for different areas of stress that vulnerable families may face during this time. Just trying to think of a way to monitor family stress related to the current outbreak in our longitudinal studies. I welcome any feedback. Thanks, Alissa

We are proposing to ask a few questions to preschool teachers in Oregon about access to health care, funding, worry, and lost income, etc. I'm happy to share those questions if people are interested--please email me (bridget.hatfield@oregonstate.edu). Some of the questions are pulled from the Kaiser survey, which you can find here (and a report here). Hope this helps!

My research group is also looking to a brief measure to assess COVID-19 related distress in children ages 8-14. If anyone is working on a measure like this, we would be happy to help. If it already exists, we would appreciate being able to use it. Thanks all!

My colleagues and I are facing similar concerns. In addition to modifying procedures (e.g., using more remote data collection efforts) we are looking for a brief measure to assess for stress related specifically to the current pandemic so that we can account for subjective feelings of stress and changes in family circumstances due to COVID-19 in future analyses. Has anyone seen or come up with such a measure?
thanks!
