Please see below about a study relevant to antiracist scholarship that you might be interested in participating in.

    ---------------------------------------------

    Hello all,

I am recruiting for a photovoice project on critical whiteness, colorblind racism, and the "white gaze" in research. The project will be a mix of synchronous and asynchronous photovoice work, that will bring together researchers and researchers-in-training, who are interested in issues of antiracism in social (in)justice projects. Over an 8-week period, we will take photos and engage in critical discussions about the feelings, challenges, and meanings of selected photos.

If you are 18 or older, are a researcher or researcher-in-training, and have access to secure internet for virtual meetings, you may be eligible to participate. If you are eligible, you could earn up to $60. This study has been approved by the University of Arkansas' IRB (protocol #2102314206). You can find more information by going to my website: https://www.thepraxislab.org/new-projects, or taking the initial demographic survey: https://uark.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_dpxpyBamXggMpL0.

The demographic survey also includes the ability to designate which dates will work best for you. We are currently scheduling two cohorts one which represents white persons, and another which represents persons of color. Our goal is to be able to open up space without persons of color put in the position of confronting, educating, or consoling persons with privileged positionalities. The upcoming dates for this project include:
    • Researchers of Color: March 28- May 2: Synchronous meetings on March 28; April 11; April 25; May 2 (Sundays either from 5pm - 6:30 EST)
    • White researchers: March 28 - May 2: Synchronous meetings on March 28; April 11; April 25; May 2 (Sundays at 3pm-4:30pm EST)
    • White researchers: March 29-May 10: Synchronous meeting dates on March 29; April 12; April 26; May 10 (all Mondays from 6pm-7:30pm)
    • Researchers of Color: April 5 - May 17: Synchronous meeting dates on April 5; April 19; May 3; May 17 (Mondays at 6pm-7:30pm EST)

Also please see the attached for more information. Please contact Lorien at lsjordan@uark.edu for any questions, concerns or clarifications. You may also contact the University of Arkansas Research Compliance office listed below if you have questions about your rights as a participant, or to discuss any concerns about, or problems with the research.

Please share this widely, as we are looking for a range of experiences and voices!
    Thanks for your consideration,

    Lorien
