Following the webinar on June 30, "Becoming an Antiracist Society: Setting a Developmental Research Agenda" we have planned two debriefing sessions on SRCD Commons with the panelists. If you missed the webinar, the recording of the webinar is available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_lGmFVkShw
The first debriefing was on Wednesday, July 8 from 4:00-5:00pm ET with Drs. Gabriela Livas Stein and Margaret O'Brien Caughy. You can read their discussion in the thread, "Debriefing with Experts on 7/8 from 4-5pm ET: Drs. Gabriela Livas Stein and Margaret O'Brien Caughy."
The next session will be on Tuesday, July 14, 2:00-3:00pm ET with Drs. Eleanor K. Seaton and Rebecca M. B. White.
Until then, we would like to continue to collect questions to ask the panelists during the debriefing sessions. What lingering questions do you have? If applicable, please feel welcome to direct certain questions to specific experts.
Below is a sample list of questions that we were not able to answer during the webinar:
- What considerations are being made to shift the research gaze away from the communities impacted by racism and towards the institutions causing harm?
- What are the implications of having white researchers taking up the racial research cause now?
- How can researchers work in partnership with early education programs and public schools to implement anti-racist and anti-bias education?
- In what ways can an antiracism be incorporated into course syllabi covering developmental psychology and child development?
If one of the above questions interests you, please reply to let us know! Additionally, as others post their questions, you can show your interest in certain questions by clicking the "Recommend" button above a post.
