Learning to Collaborate at Home

05-07-2020 01:42

Our new 3-minute video is featured in NSF's 2020 Video Showcase competition.  It shows ways that Indigenous and Mexican-heritage families foster their children's contributions at home and help them learn to collaborate. You can join the discussion and vote on your favorite videos on NSF's website.   The discussion and voting close late on May 12, but the video and discussion remain available.

Just watched and voted by sharing on twitter! Thank you Dr. Rogoff for sharing. It was great to see the bilingual comments and discussion below the video. I was particularly struck by the question on what the differences may be across socioeconomic classes within the United States on collaboration, e.g., rural vs. urban families. Or I would even be interested to see how differences in collaboration emerge among U.S. white, minority, and immigrant families. Dr. Coppens' response referencing "code switching" in U.S. minority and immigrant communities was very informative
