For a parenting unit, I usually ask students to observe families in natural contexts, like the grocery store, and bring their observations to class. Because many families are staying indoors (as they should), I adapted the assignment by providing scenarios and also asking students to read an article on helicopter parenting. The assignment is attached, if you would like to use all or part of it.
