Many labs have been exploring online testing for work with children in the past few months. My sense is that university IRBs have varied in how comfortable they are with different approaches. Some are okay with Zoom while some ban it. Some say that parental consent must be signed through REDCap while others are okay with a parent stating their consent out loud.
What have been your experiences with moving your own studies online? And for those who have been successful, what kinds of explanations have you offered for the tools that you're using? I think this information could be incredibly helpful for those whose IRBs are cautious about exploring new tools.
